i think people only ever have this opinion if they view disabilities as inherently bad or a dirty word that shouldn’t be uttered. it is a disability. it’s a neurological disability (severe stutters, not mild anxiety driven stutters) with no cure. regardless of a persons outlook on life, it negatively affects our lives. it dis-ables us from speaking. we have no crutch to help us, to techniques to use to ‘cure’ us. it’s a disability and people refusing to acknowledge that only does more damage to those with severe stutters.
