Yeah it’s hard enough with the current job market too on top of trying to navigate just getting the words out at an interview. The best thing I can tell you is to keep writing! No matter what it is. Short stories. Screen plays. Books. Whatever it is. On top of honing your craft it can also be really therapeutic. I’ve written a few novels in my time and it’s a great way to keep building experience and a portfolio and sometimes to just vent what you’re feeling. As far as landing a job, just keep at it. I’ve gone on tons of job interviews and got rejected from a lot. It stings but something great will come along - just keep at it! My experience has been, thus far anyway, that most people don’t care about my stutter. They care about the work I can do. There are also a ton of resources online for writers. Start a blog on Wordpress! Make a portfolio website. Tell your story, keep writing and keep working! Film reviews, your journey with stuttering and anxiety, whatever you can and want to talk about. People will try to step on you along the way, but that’s on them and isn’t a reflection of you or the person you are or what you’re capable of. It’s tough. 100% it’s not easy, but there are still ways to get where you want to go, especially in this digital landscape. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help!
