I totally agree with this post! If you say upfront that you have a stutter, they are more likely to look past it. Yes you're nervous and that's likely why the stuttering is worse (I know it is for me), but they'll see it isn't because you're unprepared or something like that, and just have a problem you're working through. I find generally, after I tell people I have a stutter, they're more likely to view me as brave and fearless because I'm willing to struggle through it.
