fellow high school junior here. I struggled with anxiety a lot from the time I was a little kid, which was when my stutter started manifesting. Now that I’m seeing a counselor, a psychiatrist, and am on medications for my anxiety, I noticed that I stutter less. I still stutter, but way less than I used to. It went from pretty severe to more moderate. Part of it is just feeling relaxed and comfortable— meditation also sounds like a great way to get into that mindset. A strategy I use is to just breathe more as I talk, and as simple as it sounds, it’s pretty helpful. It might sound like common sense but I think a lot of us stutterers don’t really realize that we are barely breathing when trying to speak.
