Only Have Problem on Phone or Similar Recording Device I don't know if this is essentially a stutter, but I can't diagnose it. This has been happening for almost 25 years at varying degrees. First I lost my "H" on the PA at a job, didn't even know it (people thought it was the PA). Then I couldn't get the words out when answering the phone, which sucked, because I was a receptionist. It got to the point where I couldn't speak normally in loud environments or social situations, and I had to leave the receptionist job and do data entry, and my co-workers thought I was shy because I never spoke. Now I only have problems with certain vowel sounds, and ALWAYS when I answer the phone, or when I have to record a voice mail or even when I talk to frickin' Alexa! She can't understand me half the time because my voice freezes up or fails. I have to force out the words and I sound like I'm choking. But one-on-one I'm fine maybe 95% of the time.
