At the beginning of my formal education in the early 80's, the school system tagged me with a similar moniker. My condition was definitely worsened by my classmates and I found myself sinking into my own mind. The teasing was relentless and never seemed to end. The apex was in high school as it was really hard to have a social life or date when you couldn't even say your own name. Instead of concentrating on what you can’t do, consider what you can accomplish. I found that writing or art are wonderful outlets of expression. I also enjoy pushing my physical limits. I may not be a buttery smooth speaker, but you’d be hard pressed to outwork me. Why am telling you this? I want you to take your woe-is-me attitude and use it as motivation to out work and out hustle people. In nearly 45 years on the planet, I have discovered that stuttering is only a disability if you let it. It will get better.
