**Any ideas how that could have happened that you started suddenly stuttering when alone?** My experience: For me, if I enter a situation where I'm alone and I already start out with a negative or unhelpful mindset, then I will stutter even when I'm alone. By unhelpful mindset, I mean: * *"I can't control initiating my articulation (or the belief that I can't execute speech movements)"* * or any demand that justifies or allows inhibition of initiating articulation (aka stuttering), such as: * *"It makes sense that I stutter when alone"*, or * *"As long as I don't know how to initiate articulation, I give up on deciding to articulate"* * *"I require confidence, a technique, or any other thought, emotion, action, or sensation - to initiate articulation"* And, if I don't self-impose aforementioned demands when alone, then I speak fluently. **Can you resonate with the way that I stutter when alone?**
