What is your experience with stuttering blocks?

What is your experience with stuttering blocks? My experience with stuttering has always felt especially frustrating because my stuttering doesn't "sound" like stuttering. There are many times I get stuck on certain letters or sounds, but just as often I have what I assume are "blocks", where I just can't say the thing I know I want to say. To an observer, it appears that I just stop talking, or I kind of move my mouth, or maybe I've stopped to think about what I'm saying. And of course it's the worst when I'm trying to say or spell my name, because then the person makes some dumb joke, like "Did you forget your own name?" Sometimes, as I'm struggling, I want to say, "Sorry, I have a stutter," but I can't because of course it doesn't sound like one and that just causes more confusion, *especially* when I get another block or start stuttering when I'm trying to explain myself. It's just a frustrating experience and I wonder how other people experience this particular form of stuttering.
