I regret not doing it. I've been struggling with mental health issues and I think my stutter is at the heart of them but I've never addressed it directly. I'm a covert stutterer and most people won't even realise I stutter but the fear is always there and any slip up is pretty devastating. The stutter itself is not the problem, my shame, embarrassment and avoidance are the problem. I had a professor who stuttered more than I did but it didn't seem to bother him or stop him from socialising and working.
