There is a man called William Parry. He has absolutely changed my entire life. I’ve stuttered my whole life and in the past 2 weeks I’ve been doing these exercises that have made me almost completely fluent. There is a mechanism called the valsalva mechanism, it’s basically a breathing technique that weightlifters use. However, what you are experiencing is a block and it happens on usually the second letter, which is usually a vowel. When stutterers experience a block, they are doing the valsalva mechanism without realising which leads to a tightness feeling in the throat. And the issue is that somewhere down the line, the larynx hasn’t been trained to speak once the person is doing this. I’ll link here a video explaining the valsalva mechanism and techniques to do. Practice the exercises daily, morning and night with each vowel sound. Another thing as well is not to expect change, understand that you were born to speak fluently. And the trick is to not try hard and not to have expectations, dissociate any fear you might have for certain words. After doing the exercises consistently, you will train your larynx to be prepared for producing speech. Dm me or comment here if you’re having troubles with locating a video or if you need any assistance with the techniques. Take care.
