Do you get frustrated or embarrassed if you greet someone and get no response?

Do you get frustrated or embarrassed if you greet someone and get no response? I find it very frustrating, because it just takes so much effort for me to eek out even a hi and then not get any response and then wonder if they just didn't hear you or are deliberately ignoring you. I inwardly cringe when this happens, sometimes when I'm bold I'll repeat my greeting and make aggressive eye contact, but sometimes I just give up and slink away.
