I’m an SLP! I’m very aware of what SLPs work on 😁 obviously, if one of my clients is really struggling to speak because of tension, blocks, secondary behaviors, etc, that’s something we would work on! No one wants to struggle while they speak. We’re never going to “cure” stuttering though. We can manage it and reduce much of the struggle so that they can stutter easier. The golden rule I’m referring to mostly refers to that. It’s important to listen to the content of the message, not how it’s said, especially if someone has a communication disorder they can’t control. I feel that most reasonable people would agree with that 😉
