I was 14, working my first job as a busboy. I was asking a man if he wanted coffee, and I blocked like REALLY hard. He looked at me wide-eyed and bursted out laughing. He jokingly said he wanted a worker who wasn’t retarded, and when I slammed the coffee pot on his table and walked away, my boss sent me home for the day. That was hands down my worst experience, totally humiliating. But at least I got to keep my job.
