Certainly. Stutter is likely to vary a lot. The only "trick" there is to it is to remember that there's variance, and in principle always expect a stutter. Otherwise, I think we get too shocked when it happens. Also, be careful with that habit of substituting problematic words/sounds. It's not something to rely on, and hence, we might end up getting shocked anyway, when it fails or causes further disruption on our part. - There are also techniques in speech therapy that can be utilized in such situations, but that of course requires attending ongoing therapy and working on it.
