Others can chime in, but my advice would be to not say things like the "take your time" example you mentioned. The best thing to do is to just wait. When someone tells me to take my time, it almost feels like I'm being cut off? Yes I know I stutter, but like, that doesn't mean I'm done with my sentence. Patience. Patience is key. P.s. kinda unrelated, but kinda related, people finishing my sentences is the worst. Don't be that guy.
