Whenever I meet someone new I stutter quite a bit. As I get to know them, my stutter lessens with them. For things like interviews or important meetings with people I've never met, I'll often let them know in the meeting invitation that I have a stutter and that it will dissipate as the meeting goes on. This actually alleviates my stutter-stress so I wind up stuttering less than if I told them. It also alerts the other people to not react badly when I do stutter which only makes things worse. When meeting new people casually, I just roll with the stuttering and focus on getting past the first few minutes of talking with them.
