Yes. It is probably due to the **intense** throat and facial tension from stuttering. Stuttering can cause tension, especially if you are nervous. The muscles can literally go out of control from the tension that is being released. I almost never have facial spasms though, but I have had them on occasion, and only when I'm stressed or trying to force it.
