Thank you very much. I took a look at it. It's primarily discussing "auto-pilot speech", which is the label I would give it. *"Spontaneous speech is characterized by minimal premeditation, effortless production, and a focus on meaningful communication rather than the mechanics of speech. This concept is designed to be distinct from fluency, allowing it to describe both stuttered and fluent speech".* It doesn't seem that there is any connection with subconscious fluency I termed in the main post. To clarify further: When stutterers are doing auto-pilot spontaneous speech, they give the control back to the subconscious resulting in the subconscious doing maladaptive things if the underlying mechanism (i.e., the conditioning between freeze response and perceived/anticipated conflict) is still malfunctioning, that's at least my take on it
