Overcoming stuttering isn’t about overcoming the stutter itself, it’s more about overcoming the lack of self-worth involved with it. Having a stutter and the experiences along with it make us believe we don’t deserve to be heard, we can lose our voice due to embarrassment and shame. To overcome stuttering is to build a life you want regardless of it. That is easier said than done but I do think it is possible. It’s about turning away from focusing on how you communicate and turning inward. You need to build up your self-worth in other areas so that your stutter doesn’t define you. To overcome stuttering is to become at peace with the cards you have been dealt.
