Sure there is always risk that you pass on the stutter. As my father passed the stutter on me. I hate the stutter profoundly but my dad also gave me a lot of his strength, intelligence and other positive attributes. Key factors that enabled me to achieve more than I ever dreamed of professionally. So be sure to take also your positive side into equation. Also personally I do not blame dad for passing stuttering on to me. I just wish he would have been more open about his stuttering and offer a helping hand to me. Something that he never did. However, this is something that you have in your hand. You can be there for your kid if he/she starts stuttering and potentially mitigate much of the negative side effects of the stuttering. You can make sure that the kid does not learn all the stuttering iceberg and the bad habits. It would be a pity if you did not have a kid 😊
