This is what my stutter is like to. No word is consistently stuttery or blocked. I'll know 1-2 words ahead that I won't be able to say a word and will adjust my word choice. I've been doing this my whole life, since age 4 and it worsened at age 7. I still OVERTLY stutter too though. I can't always hide it. I'm 44 now, and for decades I had literally lost the ability to think of anything to say to people (unless I knew them really well or it was in writing) because I'd become so preoccupied with HOW to say things as opposed to WHAT to say. I would be incredibly antisocial and self-conscious, shy and aloof even though I was always friendly. I just couldn't keep a conversation going as I knew I couldn't say more than a few words without stuttering. It was only 6 years ago, after starting to take benzos daily, that my stutter improved by about 85%. I can actually speak now, and think of things to say and actually SAY them!
