Stuttering nurse I'm new to this community and I just wanna vent to people who understand where I come from. I recently graduated as a nurse this summer and have been through some things (which is bound to happen every new place you go to) from my own 2 classmates laughing at me, to me avoiding speaking to some patients due to embarrassment as I already know i'm gonna stutter. I'm deeply scared to officially start working because its gonna be those peoples lives on my hands, and I wont be able to rely on others most of the time to tell the patient something for me. Im deeply afraid for some reason. I dont want the patient to see it as "cute" or "funny" i want to be taken seriously and as an actual medical professional nor do I want them to think im cognitively impaired and somehow I became a nurse. The only thing thats keeping me going is recognition from the director of the nursing program and my favorite teacher whom I look up to, they both said "Dont worry, youre going to be a great nurse." I sure hope I am. I'll find out.
