While stuttering is indeed tough (especially in your teens), it can be also a great excuse for many things, including not socializing, making friends or building romantic relationships. Personally, I was mocked in school but also had many friends who didn't mind my speech impediment. Some girls even showed interest towards me, even though I used stuttering as an excuse mainly in this area of my life. I'm not a big fan of "just accepting" stuttering but temporarily it's the best move. Reading aloud and mind training helped me a lot and I've met many people who overcame their speech problems, so I don't think there's nothing we can do to improve.
