To me I think its really disrespectful and demeaning because sure it might seem like a joke to some people...until they actually meet someone who stutters and realize it isn't a joke and how we feel on a daily basis. I compare it to the same treatment of how people say, "Are you retarded?" It just comes from a place of ignorance and a lack of understanding. Like even until this day many people don't know what a stutter is and that people who stutter even exist. And also they don't know how to react to it because its foreign to them 😔 I think that stuttering still isn't as widely known as compared to autism because we still don't truly know that much about it, even in the last 50yrs or so. Still don't know what causes it exactly but it is what it is. Just wanted to share my thoughts about the whole thing
