My story is kind of like yours with the spontaneity of stuttering. I talked fairly normal, with some speech delays and an awkward thing where I didn’t make eye contact with people. Then on Father’s Day, when I was 6, I saw my parents fighting. My dad would beat my mother. From that day forward, I know, my stuttering got worse and worse. I stutters throughout my childhood until now. I’m a 22 year old guy. It wasn’t until I took classes in Speech Language Pathology where I learned about stuttering. It’s crazy how it happens but we will get through this together.
