Yeah, that's definitely a good idea that I've done on occasion, but the problem is that I don't make the conventional stuttering noise of elongating sounds. I experience blocks where no noise comes out at all, so people a lot of the time don't seem to understand whats happening because they don't realise that it's a form of stuttering. After I tell people though, they usually understand and don't question it any further and become more sympathetic.
