Probably having a parent that stutters could help you emotionally; both of my parents had stuttering problems in their childhood and naturally grew out of it in their teens. My father's stutter didnt come from genetics, he had a best friend he hung out with as a child and slowly developed the stammer issue. My mother on the other hand has a father and uncle that stutters. With all that support behind me, I still stutter in my late 20s; I even took speech therapy inside and outside of school. With all that being said, having that support behind me helped me cope with my reality but didn't resonate in my efforts of taking advantage of the help I had.
