To be fair, we've been there many times before - that sound, that word, that phrase, that sentence... and sometimes, I think we might even habitually shy away from something, exactly because we've got such a long ingrained history. Strain takes its toll. What's more "amazing", I reckon, is that sometimes it works anyway. And that's the thing that's hard to get used to. The fickleness of it all. To some extent, we're able to modify things in either direction, whether to substistute more or to carry out more attempts, regardless of what our habits are telling us. Obviously, the former is not a good default.
