Np! I just had a thought - are you familiar with Delayed Auditory Feedback https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_Auditory_Feedback#Effects_in_normal_speakers ? Imo I don't think it should be used as a "cure" - but with regard to your assignment if you have access to Audiology equipment or a DAF device.. You may have some more *authentic* experiences. You might be able to use a DAF device while making difficult phone calls.. I tinkered around with some DAF software myself out of curiosity of how DAF might affect me. I was showing it to my wife asked her to try talking or having a conversations and it did impact her ability to speak 'fluently'. It's described as an "artificial" stutter so it's still not entirely the same - you could probably adapt to it. If it effected you the same way you might feel some of the frustration of associated with not being able to communicate "like everyone else". I'm not sure how great an idea this is in reality, but it might be an interesting experiment.
