I think much of my fortitude comes from several life events: my first husband and baby daughter died in a car accident in 1979. I was 26. I am very lucky to be married to my second husband for 37 years, have two wonderful sons and two beautiful granddaughters. I am also a breast cancer and double mastectomy survivor of 8 years. I’m not sure I have fortitude, but rather just plain stubbornness. I refuse to be toppled by my stuttering. Refuse! Do I have crappy stuttering moments? Hell yes. I have a one minute pity party and move on. I have to. I’ve survived too much to let my stuttering best me. We’ve survived to our seventies! Let’s celebrate! 🌸
