Way to go! When I was your age I spent a few years working in kitchen and found it was great, fun place. There's a lot to learn (each place has it's own slang, different methods/procedures for everything) but you'll pick it up quickly and it's expected that you'll make a bunch of mistakes early on. There's a pretty good article on the Kitchen Code that's worth a read before you step foot in the kitchen: [https://www.chefs-resources.com/kitchen-management-tools/the-kitchen-code-ethos-of-the-professional-kitchen/](https://www.chefs-resources.com/kitchen-management-tools/the-kitchen-code-ethos-of-the-professional-kitchen/) The most important article points from my experience for anyone just starting in a kitchen under any role (dishwasher, line cook, prep chef, etc) would be #55 (kitchen warnings - most important), #66, #38, #9 and #2.
