Having a room of students laugh at you for something that makes you wanna cry already is tough. I learned to never let them see me cry and just keep talking. But you may have to accept that she will struggle socially as kids absolutely torment people with disabilities. And many will look down and treat her poorly. But the friends I did make were the best. I learned I didn't want to be friends with bullies anyway. As far as improving speech, I really like Lee Lovetts books and techniques, but others are critics.
