My speech is much better than how it was years ago. Meditation improved my mental health. I feel calmer than before. It cured my depression too. Yes, meditation for beginners is often a tiring thing. Surprisingly, I was very much excited when I started meditation for the first time (an year ago), and since it was giving me benefits, I continued doing it, and will always do. Just start slowly. You don't have to sit for 20-30 minutes for now. Even 5 minutes meditation work! Then slowly increase the time. In the beginning, you will have lots of random thoughts while meditating. That's completely normal. You will get used to it and day by day, your focus will getting better. The best thing you can do is just do it. And be consistent. If you can't do daily, do it alternate days, but do it :)
