I'm afraid I can't answer your question, as my stutter is not cured - but as I've gotten older, I have been able to manage it out of being a big hindrance (I'm 41 now) (some of this is down to just getting older, and the difference this makes to being intimidated by the world). I wanted to ask, have you tried medication? Benzos have been pretty effective for me in addressing the fear that you talk about.
