Depends entirely on whether or not the providers received effective training in treating dysfluency. If you block, they should be teaching you to do voluntary repetitions, make eye contact, and begin speaking slowly on an exhale. That’s based on the science of dysfluency, the most current research, including the DSM diagnostic criteria. If they tell you to not worry about what other people think, to take deep breaths, or practice techniques that use your articulators (if they already work fine, the problem is not there), quit.
