I just found this group I have been alone in dealing with this for my entire life, as I'm sure most have. I'm 37 and have been stuttering for as long as I can remember. I've never met another person that deals with it, so finding this group fills me with some hope. My case isn't as bad as some cases, but when it comes on, it comes with a vengeance. There are certain consonants that trip me up (K's, H's, and M's to name a few). When my brain gets hung up, I physically can not get the word out. My face gets distorted and I feel like I'm lagging as if I were in a video game. And I have to speak on the phone for a living. I usually try to hide the instance with a cough or act like the phone is cutting out, but regardless I feel like a complete idiot. I know I'm not, but I swear man, the physical struggle I feel and the mental stress of it all...you all know. Anyway, I just wanted to take an opportunity to get it off my chest as no one in my life understands. Thanks for reading.
