Not sure if the finger tap is related to a part of the program I went through... Part of my fluency program was learning to speak fluently through a monotone, mush-mouthed, method. This wasn't the end goal, but just an early stage of the process. As I was transitioning from this monotone-mush to regular fluent speech, I was taught to associate physical cues with the two different methods of speech. Initially these cues were large, gross motor cues, such as a raised hand / lowered hand. Over time, the cues were transitioned to smaller, finer motor skills. Open / closed hand. Open / closed thumb and forefinger. Forefinger pressure and release. I'm sorry you haven't been able to find a successful fluency program.
