I think if you have a severe stutter you are kind of better poised to accept it. If you are in the mild area of the spectrum it’s a lot harder because it’s easier to get and maintain control. If I stuttered all the time and there was nothing I could do about it, I think I’d find acceptance easier. As it is, I stutter mildly and can do something about is 90% of the time so when I fail, I can’t just say, oh it’s the stutter, I say “ oh, it’s me, it’s my fault, I should have been calmer, paced my self, taken a breath, or used a crutch or trick, I’m an idiot” It’s really weird.
