That’s crazy because that happens to me too! I work in customer service (retail) and for the most part 80% of the time my speech is fluent. But friend and family it can take me 5 minutes to tell a 3 sentence story. To me i like to think of it as a “loosening of the belt”. Like you know how after a big meal your pants feel a little too snug? That’s how I feel sometimes holding in my stutter, and when i “loosen” my stutter belt it all flows free and I don’t have to hide it anymore. I hope that makes sense lol.
