Almost never. I think it happened once during school, but even then it was a bullied kid grasping at some way to become a bully himself, kind of a unique situation that didn't hurt me. As an adult, I almost never get made fun of. There has been the odd situation, and it interestingly tends to happen with people of a different culture (I work with other cultures a lot). I don't think it's mean-spirited, but the sensitivity to these sort of issues isn't there. I remember one person on the phone mocking me "Ooh ah ooh ah I can't understand you." I was pissing him off in the first place because I kept calling trying to get information for a story (journalism). Just yesterday I had a funny comment made to me. Been having these long conversations with a reader in a very remote community, an old guy, and he was interested in why I sounded like I do. At the end of the conversation he said, "You may not speak well but you're sure a great listener!" I thought it was cute.
