I'm making new friends thanks to my stutter

I'm making new friends thanks to my stutter This is a plot twist I never thought was even possible. A year ago I joined a support group for people who stutter and I started making friends there. There's a special connection between us I don't know how to explain it. I've always had a feeling I don't fit anywhere, until I found *my people*. We even made a trip together. Just now 2 female friends visited my house, we spent the whole afternoon talking. They told me they are super shy and struggle socializing because of the stutter. But we just had a "normal" afternoon. I find it so amazing how shy people are not shy anymore under the right circumstances. This post is to encourage people to search for your local support group. Meeting people who talk like me took a huge weight of my back. Now my stutter makes me belong to a community and not the opposite.
