Shit happens! Went to Chili’s for dinner tonight and when it was my turn to order, I had a very hard block on ‘chicken.’ The waiter actually laughed at me. I was hot, tired and stressed. It happens. We had our granddaughters with us, so bitch slapping him was out… I stood up (I’m 5’11” and very fit for 71 yrs old—I run marathons) got in his face and whispered (most stutterers do not stutter when whispering) “do you enjoy laughing at people with disabilities?” Whoa. He actually started to cry. I asked him to send another waiter over and the manager. My husband spoke to the manager. After all was said and done, waiter apologized, we got free dessert. You don’t have to make a scene. You just have to be firm and scare the shit out of them. LOL God, I love being tall and fit. It’s my super power. My 5 year old granddaughter asked what was wrong and I told her that the waiter was unkind to Grammy. Her response, “well, that was rude.” My thoughts exactly. My 15 year old granddaughter simply said “you’re so badass Grammy.” Yep! Stuttering bad ass Grammy. That’s me.
