Should I start Speech Therapy? Hey, I'm 25 yo and I have a mild stutter ever since I could remember. I don't (or cannot) accept it because sometimes I am mostly fluent and no one even finds out I have a stutter. But other times, I block like once in every sentence. These days I feel it more and it ruins my life. In work, I cannot express myself well and it affects my anxiety pretty bad. When I block I feel lost and I cannot complete the sentence properly. I sometimes feel like people think about me that I am incapable and awkward. I am sure that stutter has a psychological side but I know it is genetic as well. So I'm not sure about the speech therapy. How can it improve my speech if stuttering is genetic? So my question is: did speech therapy help you and should I start one?
