I was in speech therapy for 15 years doing the same thing. Then I found out there are other options beyond fluency. Life was difficult but I never felt hopeless because I've met enough people who stuttered who gained control of their lives. If you want to pretend like there's nothing to be done and stop trying that's your choice, but it's a false choice based in fear.
