Medication for Stuttering

Medication for Stuttering Before I start, I also have depression and social anxiety (stuttering might be causing the anxiety or the anxiety might be worsening the stutter, idk for sure). I'm looking for medication to improve my speech fluency. I've been on SSRIs (celexa) for depression and anxiety in the past and it had improved all of my conditions (including stuttering). However, it was too sedating, and I found that it impacted my cognitive abilities (just made me feel mentally slower lol). I've also tried prozac but it gave me headaches and an odd sensation in my head (best way I can describe it is it felt as if there was constant pressure in my brain). I'm considering switching to zoloft, venlaflexine, or bupropion (reluctant about zoloft and venlaflexine because of their possible sedation and sexual side effects). i already take benzos as needed for anxiety and stuttering but I rarely take them and want something more long-term. I know antipsychotics can theoretically treat stuttering since they antagonize dopamine receptors, but my doctor understandably doesn't want me to take those given their numerous potential side effects. Anyone out there that has used medications that worked for their stuttering? [ ](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskDocs/comments/100e4fg/medication_for_stuttering/)
