Yes and I would warn the teachers ahead of the presentation that I had a speech impediment. They were always very understanding and patient. Some teachers would even warn the class that I would stutter as I went up to present. As awkward as that was, I think it was way better than people having no clue why I was talking so strange. And yes, I did land a job. I would also add that my parents & church encouraged me to do a lot of public speaking, which sounds crazy, and it was horribly painful, but it ultimately taught me how to handle the pressure of stuttering in front of people. My stutter actually improved by quite a bit in my late 20s but it did take like 10 years of practice. Also what worked for me may not work for others of course.
