So true. I'm 25 as well, just a couple weeks ago I was talking on the phone with someone for work with the goal of explaining what we do etc., basically I was a salesman of sorts (a job I purposefully avoided, but life is full of little sales whether we like it or not). Anyways, I started out fine but had a particularly bad block pretty early on. Just 3 or 4 years ago, this would have sent my heart rate through the roof, I would have clammed up and everything would have gotten worse. Instead, I rolled my eyes at the mistake, said "I'll apologize in advance, I have a bit of a stutter when I talk sometimes." The guy I was talking to instantly assured me that it was no problem, and I carried on with the presentation without missing a beat. Instead of getting worse, just putting it out there took the weight off my shoulders and I was much more fluent from then on. And the few stutters that still happened didn't matter because he was aware already. Long story short, there are much more important things to spend your time worrying about. In the grand scheme of things, it just takes us a little longer to say what we want to. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't say it.
