Makes me more empathetic towards people with different abilities. Keeps me from mouthing off and making a fool of myself by speaking without thinking things through. Disarms people who now think I'm genuine and honest as I'm not putting up a front to be someone I'm not. Makes me a better writer. My past girlfriends and wife all said my stutter was one of things that attracted them to me. And as someone else said: excellent asshole detector: anyone who has a problem with my stutter is easily spotted as the type of person I want nothing to do with in my life.
