Hi u/pHaNTommz15 \- Thanks for your post. There isn't much research on sleep patterns and stuttering. It is a highly individualized situation - but I do have clients who definitely tell me that they have more trouble speaking if they haven't gotten sufficient sleep. (Others tell me that it doesn't matter at all.) As for the scientific explanation - I think that it's simply that it's hard to do anything when we aren't feeling our best...And not sleeping well can make us not feel our best. I'm afraid I don't have anything more scientific than that.
