I can relate, my stutter keeps me from going out and socializing so much. I'm late 30's, in great shape, successful, but for the life of me I can't put myself out there. My friends keep asking me why i don't go out to bars and converse, meet new people, but they just don't get it. I've tried so many times but once the stuttering starts I just want to stay quiet. I have so many cool things to say, but I just can't say them without awkward blocks that just make me want to stop talking .. The only plus side of this is that my stuttering forced me to focus on my work like a laser beam, and this has brought success to a degree none of my friends have reached.
